Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. Introduction

Unshared ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Unshared website, API, SDK, and dashboard (the "Service") to help businesses detect and address account sharing. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, "you" includes that company.

2. Data We Collect

Account and profile data

When you sign up or manage your account, we collect information such as your email address, name, company name, and password. We store your account information securely. We also store your role, company association, and preferences related to the dashboard and Service.

Payment and billing data

For paid plans, payment is processed by our payment provider. We may receive and store billing-related information (e.g., plan, subscription status, billing email) but do not store your full payment card details; those are handled by the payment provider in accordance with their privacy policy.

Usage and operational data

We collect information about how you use the Service, including dashboard usage, API and SDK usage (e.g., request volume, errors), and logs that help us operate, secure, and improve the Service (e.g., IP address, user agent, timestamps).

Data we process on your behalf (end-user data)

When you integrate our SDK or API, you may send us data about your end users (e.g., user IDs, email addresses, IP addresses, device identifiers, session information, subscription status). We process this data solely to provide the Service, for example to run our account-sharing detection and return analysis (e.g., whether a user is flagged) and to send verification emails when your application requests it. We act as a data processor for this data; you are the data controller and are responsible for having a lawful basis and any required notices or consents.

3. How We Use Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service (including detection, analytics, and email verification)
  • Authenticate you and manage your account and company workspace
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional and product-related communications (e.g., verification emails, account and billing notices)
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service
  • Monitor and protect the security and availability of the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal data or your end users' personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. For example, we may store session and authentication-related data so you can access the dashboard without signing in on every visit. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some functionality.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to run the Service. For example:

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Our application and data may be hosted on third-party cloud providers that process data on our instructions.
  • Authentication and database: We use a third-party provider for authentication and storing account and operational data.
  • Payments: Our payment provider processes payment and subscription data.
  • Email: We use an email provider to send transactional and verification emails.

These providers are bound by their own privacy and data processing terms. We choose providers that we believe offer appropriate safeguards for the data they process.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and profile data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. Usage and operational data (e.g., logs) may be retained for a limited period for security and improvement. End-user data that you send us for processing is retained as needed to provide the Service and as described in the Service or documentation. You may request deletion of your account and associated data subject to applicable law and our retention requirements (e.g., for legal or billing purposes).

7. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect the data we collect and process. No system is completely secure; we will notify you of a breach affecting your data where required by law.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your account information in the dashboard. To exercise other rights or ask questions, contact us at support@unsharedlabs.com. If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For end-user data that you send us, you are responsible for handling your users' rights requests; we will assist with such requests as required by our agreements and applicable law.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under the higher age that may apply in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in certain countries). If you believe we have collected personal data from a child, please contact us at support@unsharedlabs.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Transfers

Data we collect may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. If you are outside these jurisdictions, your data may be transferred to and processed in those countries. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms) where required by applicable law.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via email or a notice in the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
